HDRC® image sensors (High-Dynamic-Range CMOS)

The latest generation HDRC®image sensors have a 768 x 496 pixel resolution and are manufactured in a standard 0.25 µm CMOS technology process. They are ideal for applications in industrial image processing, automation, process control, traffic management systems and measurement tasks in research and development that require reliable and saturation-free image recordings in difficult and uncontrollable lighting conditions.

Dynamic range of HDRC® and other sensors

Special characteristics:

  • Extremely high dynamic range up to 170 dB
  • High speed readout of 80 ns/pixel
  • Rolling or Global Shutter
  • High and constant contrast of almost 1 percentage as well as a color continuity across more than 4 lighting decades
  • Extremely reliable, non-blending and/or non-saturating characteristics
  • Lense aperture or light exposure control is not required

High dynamic illumination ranges in video sequences do not pose a problem due to the logarithmic HDRC®characteristic curve. Well-resolved contrasts in dark as well as highly illuminated image areas, even during extremely varying lighting conditions do not result in any loss of image information – not even in one image.
